ACCIONA Energía aims to develop a business proposal with people at the center: improving the model for greater recognition, being more diverse, creating a smarter and safer work environment, training future agents of change and ensuring compliance with our people’s fundamental rights.

2022 Milestones

  • Data processing in international selection processes that allow selection optimization and management (Workday and LinkedIn).
  • Signing equality plans in Spain in ACCIONA Energía and in the Energy Services division and launching new initiatives that promote gender diversity in each of the company’s activities.
  • Launching WIRE (Women in Renewable Energy), a meeting place to contribute to the development of critical leadership competencies.
  • Deployment of a program to promote gender diversity (IWAT) and increasing the percentage of women in leadership and management positions.
  • Collective bargaining and signing an agreement to ensure the effective integration of EROM (operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets) employees in Spain.
  • Expanding the activity into new territories and hiring the talent we need (Brazil, France, and Southeast Asia).

2023 Challenges

  • Continue to support all policies and practices in new workspaces (Campuses in Madrid, Brazil, USA, and Australia), with special emphasis on intensive training in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and productivity.
  • Negotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement applicable to energy workers in Spain.
  • Review of the organizational structure in the Energy Services division to adapt to the current context and strategy, analyzing both the organizational level and the family, mission, and functions of each job in the organization.
  • Unification of the Performance Status Talent Review and the Salary Review processes in order to streamline them, coordinating the results, and digitalizing them within the Workday platform.
  • Continue to increase the percentage of women in executive and management positions, as well as deploying the existing programs aimed at increasing the ratio of people with disabilities joining the workforce.
  • Extending Top Employer certification to operations in Chile and South Africa.

Women in ACCIONA Energía

In 2022, ACCIONA Energía encouraged the hiring of women or ensured that the curriculum of at least one woman was included in all selection processes, in line with the goals set out to increase the number of women in leadership and management positions, to achieve equal pay and to promote women’s leadership programs.

ACCIONA Energía promotes the full inclusion of women and their leadership.

Mexico

Mujeres en el Istmo Energía project

Recruitment, selection, and development for women engineers in maintenance and operations. The second edition of this program was launched in 2022 with 6 women engineers being hired.

Spain

Ágora Energía project

Inclusion of women in identified positions of the Wind Energy Production area. In 2022, 4 women were hired.

Chile

Mujeres en Producción project

In collaboration with nearby universities, a team of talented local female maintenance technicians has been set up in Chile’s operating wind farms and plants.

+Diversos +Capaces program

Labor inclusion program to assist in the employment of people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities.

Through this program, ACCIONA Energía identifies job opportunities in collaboration with foundations with expertise in intellectual disabilities that provide support in the search for profiles and in raising awareness in the welcoming teams. Since the program was launched, 3 people with intellectual disabilities have been hired for the human resources and administration areas.

Home Office model

ACCIONA’s Home Office model was implemented during 2021, within the PEOPLE framework strategy of improving the environment for people, introducing new work models with the triple objective of generating value for employees, the company and society.

The company’s commitment to new work models has been reflected in the annual climate survey with an increase of 5 p.p. in the result of the Work Environment and Well-being index compared to 2021 (68% very satisfied in 2022 compared to 63% in 2021). The index reflects employee satisfaction with the work environment and the company’s active concern for their well-being.
